In today's program I’ve got some fantastic mixes and sets in store for you and two featured albums that I’m sure you’ll find to be an outstanding addition to your library. In the first hour, I have the cross-collaboration between Swedish pianist and composer Julia Gjertsen and Norwegian sound designer and trombonist Gustav Davidsson with an album that breaks new ground in the neoclassical and ambient jazz genres. And later on in the program, a featured album from UK artist The Deccan Traps, capturing the mystique and beauty of the eastern midlands of England. Plus up ahead, I’ve got new music from Arcane Trickster, Logic Moon, Hiram, and so much more. Strap in and make yourself comfortable, join us for the next two hours for global ambient music, on this special mixtape edition of The Relay Station.
In today's program my two featured albums cover vastly different ends of the ambient spectrum, and I’m totally there for it — one laying the foundation for peace and serenity, and the other stirring you up towards awareness and vigilance. In the first hour, my first featured album comes from the collaboration between Australian artist Uuxe and Canadian ambient artist Gollden, who’ve put together a serene EP that is ripe for the times. And later in the program, a poignant new EP from Los Angeles based multidisciplinarian artist Yann Novak with striking reflection of our current social, technical, and political landscape. Plus our conversational topic for today: music and social change. What are some notable albums or songs that come to mind that stirred up tangible signs of social change? And how do you think Ambient music could play a role in affecting our cultural landscape? Let’s strike up a conversation! Also up ahead, new music from Willebrant, Eblo, Akhira Sano and more. Strap in and make yourself comfortable, join us for the next two hours for global ambient music, on The Stolace Relay Station.
