Hey friends and travelers! I'm Michael Tangen, the producer and host of The Relay Station. I've been producing this show in various formats for nearly six years now — from its infancy as a live stream on Twitch, to programming on YouTube, and finally as a radio program offered through PRX and direct download distribution.
In addition to producing the program I'm a musician as well, producing music in a variety of genres including ambient, electronic, psychedelic rock, and neoclassical music. If that wasn't enough, I've also added "film score music" to that list, producing music for an independent short film that will be due out later this year. I've got over 60 hours of ambient music over at stolace.bandcamp.com — some of it's really good, some of it's so-so, and there are bound to be a few lemons in there as well.
I'm also a visual artist, lover of applied philosophy, a writer, voiceover talent, husband, father of two amazing teenagers, dad to one dog and two cats, and a consummate student of life's curriculum. I've entirely extricated myself from social media and refuse to play the game. You should join me.
